We already have a Code of Practice from The IET which is very thorough and comprehensive. How does the PAT Testing Network intend to match or improve on this code of practice?

All of our members are required to adhere to our Working Standards document.

The Working Standards Document is not designed to replace, match or improve upon the CoP, which is a technical document laying out in detail how testing should be carried out.

In fact, the Working Standards document is designed to lay down a set of professional standards for our members to follow, such as contact with customers, dealing with complaints, following up enquiries etc. The Working Standards document requires our members to comply with the spirit of the CoP (as the CoP is not a mandatory document our members are not required to follow it to the letter) but the Working Standards document goes into the customer relations side of the industry which our members can use to demonstrate professionalism.
